Bells of Tatev

The inspirations behind Bells of Tatev (2023) include the sound of bells, awe-inspiring mountains, Armenian folk music-like inflections, and a meditative element. Located at the peak of a mountain, Tatev monastery is one of the calmest and most isolated places, and a cherished memory from Summers spent in Armenia. Recurring bell-like motifs punctuate the composition: we hear bells of all sizes, ranging from the smaller bells which we hear at the start, and then bigger ones later in the lower range, followed by distant bells as a descant in the upper range.
