Evening Prayer

Commissioned by St Paul’s Cathedral and first performed by the Vicars Choral of St Paul’s
Cathedral on 19th October 2023, conducted by William Fox.

Programme note

Written as an Introit, Evening Prayer is a setting of Psalm 141:2, reflecting on the serenity of
personal prayer in the evening and inviting the congregation to experience a moment of
stillness in the gentle harmonies of the choir.

Let my prayer rise before you as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
