Programme note
Elegy (2023) works as a passacaglia, with a repeating bass line and growing melodies above which start meekly and reach emotional heights. Bearing a resemblance to my choral work I Wandered Lonely As a Cloud, each part of the contrapuntal texture is envisioned as a separate voice.
